105

It’s Birthdays month (Caroline's, Juan's, Jose's, Madonna...) Barnum and Bailey Circus is in town, and it’s 105Foutside, must be August!

Last weekend we took the girls to their first Circus and the look in both their eyes was worth the ticket price when the elephants, horses, dogs and tigers came out. Daddy bought her the $16 flashing off balance Dremmel Tool with B&B Elephant hood ornament (see pic). She thought the $12 cotton candy was pink fluffy mold and still has a phobia for it as she does for hard boiled eggs. They both enjoyed the first half of the show and didn’t seem too impressed with the flying married couple shot out the canon nor the ferocious feline and a Cuban cat show on the second half; these little girls got tired.

Our almost 23 pound toddler turns two this weekend, keeping mommy preoccupied with her birthday party preparations with cake, balloons, food and presents! She bought her a new Chair and Desk Set with a drawer and a matching Toy Chest so she has a place to hide the things that go missing around the house lately.

Mommy had to run to the store to pick up another medical toy set after her Doctors Glasses, Cell Phone and unaccounted items from her toy briefcase went missing. The last time we saw them, she had packed it in a Zip-Lock bag and left it on the kitchen floor, next to the trashcan. The trash lid now remains locked at all times.

Caroline’s animal noise repertoire has expanded to horses, goats and cows as well as her vocabulary with “sientate! (sit down)”, “bow”, “car”, “floffer (flower)”, “meh (media = socks)” . She hates “portate bien! (behave!)” and throws a tantrum because she very well knows that she has done something she was not supposed to. Gives herself away with her “no no no no no…” from whatever room she is in.

Saying “YooHoo-hoo” (Granddad) is a favorite of hers; a couple of days ago, mommy had Skype on to Video Conference with Nana and YooHoo; want to talk to YooHoo? She went Speedy Gonzales across the living room and climbed on mommy’s lap to talk to him!

“Bah Bah” (Barney) is her idol and sings along on several of the shows; we caught her reciting some of the show children’s scripts!

Her tantrums in public places is a subject we can exclusively write about in a blog of it’s own. Her time in a stroller is now on a timer, and we have to let her walk in malls so she can explore clothing stores, spas, jewelry concession stands and radio shack stores; she thinks sampling of the low shelf products is so wonderful.

Some back teeth are still coming out and her appetite has not been very big lately. She used to like brushing her teeth at tubby time, but the teething has made her gums tender and she doesn’t look forward to brushing lately either.

Let ‘s talk about Isabella: earlier this week daddy came home from work, kissed all three girls and went upstairs as usual; coming back down after changing clothes, he asked why she had screamed? Mommy said I had not taken her upstairs with me! She’s developing a personality and is beginning to understand routines, how dare I ignore her, Ms. Agú says!

’Chubbella’ started eating apple sauce and will wolf down almost 3/4 of her Stage 1 baby food! Daddy is already looking forward to taking her out with Caroline now that she can survive on baby food for a full morning giving Mommy a break!

She is still wearing her number 1 diapers and holds steadily at 14.5 pounds. Mommy began dressing her in her older sissy’s 6-12 month clothing and is quickly outgrowing it. She got her first pair of shoes with soles, not the soft bottom baby shoes, but the walking shoes for her growing feet.

Her back is getting stronger by the day but still needs a little help sitting on your lap or holding onto her tubby edge ring or your plate at dinner time; we are almost there!

At 5 months and a week old, she’s sleeping one hour, maybe a couple tops during the day; does she not want to miss out on staring at her older sister playing all day? are her sniffles still bothering her? We are not sure why she is hardly sleeping , but definitively gets tired and still fights mommy at nap times. Would she simply just want to laugh at her Sissy's raspberries all day?

We are still waking up once to twice a night to eat, and she goes back to sleep on tummy...daddy’s tummy! She falls asleep on Daddy just a quick as it takes Mr. Biden to say something stupid.

“Reach out and touch someone” is her latest motto; when reading at night with Caroline, she emphatically reaches her hand out until she finally grabs her book!, and eats it...
